The Colleen of the early 21st Century is an E.U. Recreational Craft Directive Certified GRP upgrade of this late 19th Century design. While the new Colleen is a very close replica of the original, more cockpit comfort and a newly designed rudder are practical features of the new boat. Remarkably almost everything in the prototype boat COLLEEN BAWN, including some untried experimental gear, worked first time.

The first two Argentina built Colleens were test sailing in Dublin Bay and at Glandore Classic Regatta in the summer of 2009.
